Creative Learning Associate
This is a fixed term part-time contract to develop and lead on a range of participation activities with young people.
The primary focus of this role is to support and enhance the impact of Pilot’s major new production of Noughts & Crosses planned for 2019.
With this production, Pilot is shifting to a new touring model based around a consortium that has been set up with Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Colchester Mercury, Derby Theatre and York Theatre Royal. The production of Noughts and Crosses will open in Derby in February 2019, and tour to the consortium venues as well as others, including Stratford East Theatre in London. (In addition to the consortium, Pilot also has an Associate Company Young & Talented based in the east of London).
The successful candidate will work alongside Pilot’s Artistic Director and the rest of the Pilot Team on developing a powerful programme of work for schools and young people, which will include delivery starting in autumn 2018. It is envisaged that some of this work is undertaken in partnership with venues. In addition to sometimes leading on work as a practitioner, the post-holder may also manage some freelancers in their delivery of projects.
We are seeking to appoint a proactive and experienced practitioner with a proven record of developing, delivering and managing high quality engagement programmes that inspire and engage children and young people. The opportunity is suited to applicants with a passion for arts education, an understanding of the needs of young people, strong leadership skills and an appetite for innovating new ways to extend the theatre’s reach.
Pilot Theatre Limited is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all members of the community.
