Welcome to the project that celebrated the launch of the Tour de France from Cambridge on July 7th 2014.
For full details about the Arts Council England funded project commissioned by Cambridge City Council, devised by Pilot and Historyworks to mark the Tour de France visit our website at cycleofsongs.org.
This project created a new cycle of songs for Cambridge. A celebration of hidden stories and voices created, performed, and made into a free sound walk app (available for iPhone and Android) with a short accompanying film.
Pilot Theatre and Historyworks worked with composers, local musicians, choirs, poets, historians, schools and volunteers to help us create this new Cycle of Songs.
It was an opportunity for people to share in unique events and become part of the history of Cambridge.
There were multiple chances to see choirs perform at various events, such as the Big Weekend festival, and people could also take part and join in with the events across the city in the build up to the big day.
