In Fog and Falling Snow (2015)

As York Theatre Royal began a major refurbishment in 2015, the National Railway Museum hosted the theatre in a purpose built auditorium on the museum site. They were also the partners on this large-scale production of In Fog and Falling Snow. We were very excited to be able to follow up on the success of the York Mystery Plays 2012 and Blood + Chocolate with another project that included a cast of 200 community members. The cast worked alongside the professional team to create a truly unique theatrical experience.

Pilot Theatre’s Associate Director, Katie Posner, co-directed this new community production with Damien Cruden, Artistic Director of York Theatre Royal, and Juliet Forster, Associate Director of York Theatre Royal. Entitled In Fog & Falling Snow, it was written by Mike Kenny and Bridget Foreman and looked at the importance of the railways to York and it’s citizens over the last 200 years. The project saw us working in collaboration with York Theatre Royal, The National Railway Museum, and The University of York.
